The design was finalized based on the requirements of LIF, which include limitations inthe dimensions of the reactor due to restrictions in space. The reactor will be constructed using Lucite so as to easily visualize the hydrodynamics and fluence within the reactor. Overall dimensions, lamp spacing and configuration, influent and effluent pipe diameters and type ofconnections were decided. The reactor will be placed vertically such that water will flow in from the top and out from the bottom, perpendicular to the flow. This allows the reactor to be easilyrotated capturing the flow field from two adjacent sides of the reactor, thus providing a complete picture of the hydrodynamics and fluence within the UV model. This will help to overcome the obstruction caused by the presence of lamps. |
