Concerns for the dredging work or leaching from mine area related water contamination are increasing. Most inorganic and organic contaminants are moved in absorbed forms on the soil/sediment particles and affects to organism by direct sorption or drinking. Concentrations of this substances are affected to their physicochemical properties and seasonal water cycles, run off etc. Therefore, preparedness of effective and safe removal technology for the unexpected inputs or leakage to the river and drinking water treatment plant is necessary. The present work focused on the availability of zeolite tablet in the field application. Waste water and mine leaching conditions were prepared as a target material for heavy metals. Prior to the sample application, the effect of pH were determined using spiked standard reference materials in relation to the effects of the adsorption properties and the sorption capacity of the adsorbents. The parameters in this study included initial concentration of target heavy metal ions, contact time, initial pH of the solution and adsorbent dosage. |
