In this study, a method to filter out rainfall-induced infiltration into the downstreamshell using a digital filtering technique is applied to 2 rockfill dams in Korea. And then, the seepage behavior and water tightness of the core zones were analyzed using the determined relationships between reservoir water level and adjusted seepage flow and the hydraulic conductivities of the core zones inversely analyzed through the conventional seepage analysis. It was proven that the application of a digital filtering technique to filter out from measure d seepage flow rainfall-induced infiltration into the downstream shell would be effective. The seepage behavior of core zone of Daechung dam & Juam dam are in a stable state. And further, the hydraulic conductivities of the core zones inversely analyzed were estimated at 8.35×10-5 ㎝/sec & 2.7×10-5 ㎝/sec each. Accordingly, the water tightness of the core zone of Daechung dam & Juam dam are judged to be fully secured so that they may serve as a seepage barrier. |
