Recently, reverse osmosis(RO) membrane process is one of the spotlight water treatment technology[1]. The main limitation of membrane filtration is fouling, which generates a decrease of membrane performances, i.e. a decline of permeate flux and an increase of longitudinal pressure drop. Thus, RO membrane has to be periodically cleaned with chemical agents like surfactants, acids, bases and/or chelates to remove the foulants accumulated at the surface of membrane and restore membrane performance.
