The floating photovoltaic system is a new concept in energy technology tomeet the needs of the times. The system integrates existing land basedphotovoltaic technology with a newly developed floating photovoltaictechnology. The system is comprised of modules, buoyant objects, etc., and isable to withstand drastic changes in water depth and wind strength. As such,the floating photovoltaic system is much different from traditional photovoltaicsystems built on land such as BIPV(Building Integrated Photovoltaic System).K-water(Korea Water Resources Corporation) has already completed twofloating photovoltaic systems that able to generate 100kW and 500kWrespectively. A third photovoltaic system, with a generation capacity of 8MW,will be under construction. Meanwhile, K-water is developing a tracking-typefloating photovoltaic system to increase generation efficiency more than ageneral floating photovoltaic system. In this paper, we design andimplementate model test installation of a tracking floating photovoltaic systemin Daecheong Dam. |
