Lately, needs of real time monitoring of off-flavours are increased due to the algal blooming in intake area for drinking water treatment plants(DWTP). Using real time data, rapid response to off-flavours by adsorption and oxidation treatments is important issue in DWTP. This study developed real time monitoring of off-flavours using multi functionalized auto sampler with SPME-GC/MS. Further, as a pretest, online GC/MS system was applied to tap for two months.중략Using this system, application using real samples was conducted during two months from early June to early August. During this periods, MIB was not detected in tap water. Increased temporal trend was observed for geosmin during 2 months. For no rainfall occurs in intake area from June to end of July, temperature dependent elevated geosmin was observed. Geosmin concentrations were immediately decreased due to the precipitation twice. This real time monitoring method provides 1) simple instrumentation, 2) harmonized with accredited method for drinking water in Ministry of Environment(MoE) including adding internal standard and salt to the sample. |
