Hi-tech industry such as semiconductor, solar panel, and LCD display requires high puritywater for their product manufacture. The requirement of Ultrapure water(UPW) for the advancedindustry filed is increase with restrict water quality. In order to meet the water quality criteriafor UPW production. It is necessary to apply a number of unit processes such as RO(ReverseOsmosis), IX(Ion Exchange), UV(Ultraviolet) process. Generally 6 to 25 unit processes areapplied for the UPW system. Thus, there are a lot of alternative combination for the unit process.Thus, the optimization of the unit process combination can lead to reduce UPW production costsuch as Electric, Chemical consumption and wastewater discharge.. The production capacity of the UPW pilot plant tested in this study was 25 m3/day. The plantprocess consist of approximately 20 unit process. All the possible unit process combination wereperformed with pilot plant to determine the water quality as well as economical cost. |
