Inflow into the seepage measuring house of Sueo dam was increased from April 2012. The V-notch weir was flooded by the increased flow rate exceeding the capacity of drainage pump. If the increased flow had resulted from the flow through the core zone, the possibility of severe problem on the dam stability such as internal erosion and piping of core zone could be considered but these were not questioned because the turbidity of incoming water was almost clear with maximum 2.2 NTU. Another cause could be expectedwas the inflow of the downstream river water through the seepage collecting system. In this study, correlations among the measured seepage flow rate, the reservoir water level and the released water supply rate for agricultural are analysed and the temperature,turbidity and pH of the inflow water also measured and analysed to investigate the possibility of inflow of the river water. CCTV surveys and field investigations were carried out to find out inflow path of the river water. Repair and Rehabilitation work for the collecting pipe and the foundation under the collecting wall, had possibility of inflow of the river water, was started on Mar. 2013, and completed in Jun. 2013. |
