Namgangdam Reservoir (NGDR, so-called Jinyang Reservoir) is a typical man-made lake, locatedin the middle-lower parts of the Nam River, and it is also one of the large impounded reservoirsystems in the Nakdong River, Korea. NGDR currently faces the dual challenge of successfullyperforming the necessary tasks such as flood control, hydropower generation, and water supply,while at the same time minimizing the negative environmental impacts such as prolongation of analert issuance by the cyanobacterial harmful algae blooms (CyanoHABs). This study analyzed thegrowth and alarm issuance of CyanoHABs in terms of reservoir management rules.
