In this paper, current is calculated and predicted by taking solar irradiation including diffused irradiation Experiment on voltage was not carried out under the assumption that the voltage varies with the change of temperature of the module but not with the change in amount of solar irradiation In general, only direct solar irradiance is considered in theoretical equations for predicting current In this paper, total solar irradiance including diffused solar irradiation has been counted Diffused solar irradiation is assumed to be the same for both front and rear surfaces The average value of diffused solar irradiation reaching the surface on the PV module installed at 90 degrees has been used to measure current for a month The predicted output of the bifacial PV module showed minor error compared with the one obtained fromconventional prediction method which only uses direct solar irradiation When the bifacial PV module is installed to have the front side facing west, model using both diffused and direct solar irradiations showed better result MAPE 2 466 MBE 0 075 RMSE 0 382 t stat 2 849 From the various evaluation methods, it has been confirmed that the model using both the diffused and direct irradiations is suitable for making accurate prediction of bifacial PV output. |
