Large-dam reservoirs have been commonly constructed in South Korea, due to lack of diversewater resources. The unique climate characteristics, such as excessive summer rainfall, haveaccelerated difficulties in efficient management of water resources. K-water is primarilyresponsible for water resources, and have strived for supplying sufficient water with confrontingwater quality problems. In this talk, we demonstrate a variety of actions and strategies for waterresources management from water-quality monitoring to optimal dam operations.
