In the current-meter method, a large number of current-meters are installed on the frame covering the entire inlet and the discharge flow rate is calculated by intergrating the flow velocity measured in the cross-section. In order to reduce the number of current-meters used in the measurement test 20 current-meters were installed in one row on the frame and the flow velocity had been measured while moving the frame vertically. Since the frame was installed in front of the turbine inlet screen the measuring area did not cover part of the side and bottom of the inlet. The discharge flow rate thorough the uncovered area its corrected by CFD simulation. Therfore, the discharge flwo rate has been predicted by the experimental curent-meter method and the numerical CFD simulation. The additional measurement for power output, head and water temperature was carried out from the low power output conditon to high power output condition. the efficiency of the bulb turbine has been evauated using the generator efficiency results. |
