Bifacial modules have an optical advantage of greater light collection over mono-facial modules. For this reason, there has been a growing interest in bifacial photovoltaic (PV) technology because it promises higher performance yield and lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE) compared to mono-facial PV technology. In this study, the effect of the bifacial module compared with mono-facial module of the floating photovoltaic (FPV) which is located by valley of reservoir nearby Dam in South Korea are described. The system is consisted of mono-facial module, bifacial modules, inverter for checking power of each module and insolation for measuring irradiation and reflection of water. With a result, during 8 months, power generation of bifacial PV are 359.75 kW which are higher 6.69~7.76% than that of mono-facial PV. Bifacial gain had 2% with only water reflection and 4~6% with internal reflection and water reflection. |
