Digital transformation technologies utilizing drones are being introduced for safety inspection and diagnosis of large-scale disaster prevention facilities such as dams. This study analyzes and compares the productivity improvement effect of drone photogrammetry inspection with the conventional manpower-based visual inspection method through a case study of the S Dam spillway. The results showed that the drone photogrammetry-based S Dam spillway inspection improved productivity (labor input and time) by about 48% compared to manual inspection, including both fieldwork and office work. It is considered that drone photogrammetry-based inspection can improve productivity and secure data objectivity by complementing visual inspection. However, the analysis of this productivity effect is limited to a single case, and further research results with a larger population are needed. |
