The most obvious feature of the water shortage problem in South Korea is the regional water shortage caused by the increase in industries that require large amounts of high-quality water, including the semiconductor industry, and the imbalance between the increase in regional water demand and water supply due to urbanization. To solve this problem, it is necessary to actively consider utilizing various local water resources, including the reuse of wastewater, instead of surface water from locally existing dams as a water source. In particular, for industrial businesses fields that require high-quality water such as industrial water, advanced wastewater reuse technology must be introduced. In this process, an issue that must be considered is the introduction of technology that can contribute to the carbon reduction strategy. This research compares the effectiveness of industrial water production using CCRO technology with that of the conventional RO process from a carbon reduction perspective.
